Jamaica Carnival 2020 (Bacchanal)

CHANGE OF DATE! Jamaica Carnival 2020 has been moved to 19th October due to Coronavirus.
Add this incredible party experience to your Jamaica holiday (you will need a week on the beach to recover afterwards!) Jamaica Carnival, also known as Bacchanal, is definitely a Carnival you should add to your bucket list and attend at least once in your lifetime, as it really is a spectacular event. Not your average street party, Jamaica Carnival is all about the people of Jamaica and a celebration of heritage and local customs.

Jamaica Carnival 2020 usually starts in January with the main events take place during the week of 15th-20th of April. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic flying bans opposed on many countries, Jamaica Carnival 2020 has been moved to October this year.  Expect beach parties, street parties, breakfast fetes, concerts and street parades!  Jamaica Carnival also includes an event called J’ouvert where everyone throws paint and powder at each other – it is is as messy as it sounds, but so much fun!

What to Expect at Jamaica Carnival

Events take place in Kingston and Ocho Rios so we recommend splitting your trip between these two destinations so you can experience both destinations.  Ocho Rios is also a popular holiday destination so you can get some well-deserved chill time when the parties are over. Expect a buzz of colours, feathers and amazing Jamaican costumes. The streets are lined with traditional Jamaica Dishes for you to try along with a band in every corner, playing anything from traditional Jamaican vibes, to Bob Marley inspired reggae, ska with even a little Jazz thrown in. Ensuring everyone has a place to enjoy the music they love.  Expect happy faces everywhere, tons of people dancing, taking part in the festivities and most of all really enjoying themselves.  Wave goodbye to your inhibitions – you don’t need them here!

If you’re looking to book your next party filled holiday than look no further than Jamaica Carnival. You really do get the best of both worlds, you can bask in the Jamaican sunshine whilst listening to traditional and more well-known tunes all whilst being in such an amazing country.  Why not extend your stay another week so that you can unwind. Jamaica has so much to see and do; laze on picture-perfect beaches, enjoy a vast range of water sports, visit a rum distillery or marvel at many natural wonders.
