BRITISH AIRWAYS CARIBBEAN FLIGHTS CHANGES

British Airways is implementing some changes in what we call VFR fares. VRF fares are special conditions applied to those travellers going to a destination to visit friends and relatives. The main advantage of these fares is that you can book your flights with a deposit and pay in instalments or pay later. From the 7th of February 2023  All Caribbean flights, excluding Kingston, Jamaica, Port of Spain, Trinidad, and St George’s, Grenada will not be eligible to pay in instalments anymore. Instead, payments will have to be made in full at the time of purchase.

 

UNDERSTANDING THE CHANGES

 

It is important that you are aware of what this change entitles, especially if you have booked your flights with British Airways. Here we explain all you need to know about your booking with British Airways.

YOUR BOOKING BEFORE 7TH FEBRUARY

If you have an existing Caribbean flight booking with British Airways whether you paid in full or you are still paying in instalments for your flight your booking won’t be affected by this change and, the terms and conditions of your purchase will remain the same as per the time of the reservation, the same happens if you wish to change or amend your ticketed flights.

For those wanting to book a flight to the Caribbean with British Airways, we encourage them to book as soon as possible before the 7th of February 2023 to benefit from the convenient payment plans.

 

  • Existing Caribbean flight bookings with British Airways won’t be affected.
  • You can still change or amend your Ticketed Flights with the same terms and conditions you had at the time of the reservation.
  • You can still book with a deposit and pay the rest in instalments.

 

YOUR BOOKING AFTER 7TH FEBRUARY
As we mentioned above, booking your Caribbean flights with British Airways after the 7th of February 2023 will imply that you must pay the total amount for your tickets. In other words, most of all the Caribbean flight bookings will be instant purchases.
For those wanting to amend or change their ticketed Caribbean flights with British Ariways, it will mean that new fares will apply to their booking and that they will have to pay the total amount of the tickets to be able to make any changes.
  • If you make changes to your existing booking with British Airways, you will have to pay the total amount for your booking and new fares will apply.
  • You won’t be able to book with a deposit and pay the rest in instalments.

 

HOLIDAY PACKAGES WITH BRITISH AIRWAYS FLIGHTS
Luckily, we have some good news! The payment plans changes to British Airways flights will not affect your Caribbean holiday package (Hotel & Flights). So, whether you have booked a Caribbean holiday package or are looking to book a Caribbean holiday soon, you will be able to do it with a deposit and pay the rest instalments as usual. Even, after the 7th of February of 2023.

Recently used SN Travel for the second time to help us with our annual holiday The booking process with Laura was great as always but everything after that was very poor. The hotel we stayed at was in the middle of a major upgrade with work starting early in the morning and lasting all day. It was noisy and dusty and not how I want to spend my holiday. The work was right outside our room and all round the swimming pool, see photos. Whilst I fully understand that this is not the fault of SN Travel other holiday makers had been warned and either moved to other buildings on the complex or changed hotels. Either SN Travel decided not to tell us this or they are not very well informed by their local agent. Either way you should question why you need to use them rather than go direct to the hotel or book online Our transfer from the airport, which they organised, was also a shambles but again they are taking no responsibility for that either. Make your own judgement as to whether you want to use this company, I think there are many better ones out there. We certainly won’t ever use them again

My recent travel was sadly horrendous. The issues start with information for my flight to my hotel stay. I had to email and call SN for my final holiday details as my date for travelling were nearing. This filled me with anxiety. My hotel itinerary was different to my friends, I had room only booked with no breakfast meal, the lift to our hotel floor was not working properly, there was no one to help us with our luggage to our room on the 18th floor, we had no hot water to shower after travelling for hours, I could not close the blinds to my window, so was completely disposed to all to see me in my room, the room itself was not very clean. My friends in another room also experienced the same issues as well, and we spoke with other guests who were equally disappointed. We complained almost every day, and eventually spoke to the hotel director Bill Russell (that's the name he gave us) Bill informed us that a waiver of 1 nights stay would be returned to us as soon as SN travel were contacted and informed. Sad to say this was my first time using SN and will be the last. DO NOT GO TO THE MANHATTAN AT TIMES SQUARE HOTEL!!! This place needs to be completely refurbished. We await to find out if we will have further contact with SN Travel & The Manhattan.
